It’s day four on the Creepy Couch and our next recommendation for our 20 Days to Halloween movie marathon is the visually stunning Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992).
Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Bram Stoker’s Dracula maintains the traditional story of Dracula as it was written, while also bringing the sexuality and hopeless romanticism of Dracula forward in a much more apparent way.
This film not only spells out the romance but also provides a unique and extraordinary array of costumes. Long and flamboyant red gowns that have tailcoats a mile long and frilly and abundant lace ruffs that would make even an 18th century dandy blush. Though the costuming might initially make the movie seem over the top, it singularly sets the film apart from other Dracula remakes that makes this film timeless.
Check out Bram Stoker’s Dracula tonight and let us know what you think! Too many frills? Too many stalker vibes? Comment and let us know what you think and check back in tomorrow for another movie here on the Creepy Couch!
