Day 11: The Creepy Couch

With Halloween ever closer we are on the Creepy Couch with yet another vampire film as apart of our 20 Days to Halloween Movie Marathon! Tonight we are watching the spectacularly dark 30 Days of Night!

Movie Description: In the far Northern Hemisphere, the small town of Barrow, Alaska, experiences a solid month of darkness every year. Though most of the residents head south for the winter, some townspeople remain behind. However, those that stay regret their decision when, one year, hungry vampires descend on Barrow to feed.

This film is an awesome vampire movie for many reasons. It’s one of those horror films that is filmed in such a way that you can almost feel yourself there in the cold mountain town, hiding from a pack of hungry vampires. It ups the freaky factor by allowing the vampires to run free, unrestrained due to the lack of sunlight. I can’t think of a worse scenario when dealing with vampires, in most movies the humans trying to survive get a nice reprieve when daylight comes; that’s not the case in this story. It creates a much more chaotic setting that, in turn, makes a movie that puts you on edge. That coupled with a satisfying amount of blood, violence, and fire rounds it out to be an epic horror thrill ride!

Check out 30 Days of Night tonight and let us know what you thought! Check back tomorrow as we count down to Halloween here on the Creepy Couch!

Stay Creepy!
